This was an almost perfect performance from the team, we just needed that clean sheet, but the goal they scored was from the ball ping-ponging around in our area, which to be honest we should have cleared, eventually falling to their big striker who poked it into our goal, giving Tom no chance. Tom did make two great saves during the match; a 1 on 1 and a diving save to his right.

Our first goal was made by Waine pressuring their right back just outside their area, we won the ball and then a smart pass into Kyp, who danced around and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

Our second goal was a neat one-two between Kyp and George, then Kyp made a lovely turn to leave their defender watching space. Kyp looked up, crossed to Jay, who controlled the ball and finished, giving their keeper no chance.

Our third goal was a lovely long ball from Hillsy over their defence, onto Jay, who again controlled the ball and fired a shot that nearly burst the net.

Our fourth was a sweet move from Hillsy to George, then to Jay who crossed to Waine, who struck a great left foot shot into the bottom corner of their net.

Our fifth, a Peter corner and an own goal from their right midfield.

Our sixth from a lovely passing movement saw Barry eventually swing the ball out to Simon who smashed it in.

Finally, another sweet passing movement saw Jay pass to Barry who swung his left foot and saw the ball hit the roof of the net giving the keeper no chance.

We had one goal disallowed, a Peter cross, superb Jay header into the roof of the net, but the ref (from the halfway line) saw the ball go out of play just before Peter crossed. Really ???

The other memorable moment was Kyp being mauled by their keeper, which from the side looked hilarious, but Kyp did not look happy,

Lovely food after the match in the sunshine – Tom eating all the sausages and leaving the rolls. Such behaviour is typical of the youngsters of today.

The talking point Sunday afternoon on our WhatsApp group was of course the embarrassing 0-5 thrashing of Manchester United by Liverpool. I counted about 70 instant messages, but that is football (or not, depending on which team you supported).

Man-of-the-match:  Absolutely nailed man of the match with 10 votes and this goes to our Duracell Bunny, who does not stop running.
