Match Report

Sunday 22nd February 2015

VS Bexley
4 - 3
Sunday Reserves
Ross Gregory 2, Jordan Burton

By Jordan Burton

From 3-0 down in the first 20 minutes the heads started to drop. With encouragement from Tommy Field and today's captain Nick Pitt our heads were quickly lifted. An attack on Bexley left a bit of a scramble just outside the box. Fortunately, Jordan Burton had the ball rolling towards him allowing him to strike it first time into the top left hand corner.

Incentive to keep going, the boys at 3-1 kept strong and pressed for more. Bexley attacked well but with man of the match Dan Eldridge and Sam Goddard in the back not much was getting through.

A chance came when Ross Gregory saw Bexley goalkeeper slightly off his line to put the Guild just one goal behind.

Half-time talks were positive with all the lads knowing we could take a win from Bexley.

Pressing once more Ross Gregory had the ball, then managed to grab his second of the game from the most impossible angle. In off the post!

Bexley then pressed once more grabbing the final and winning goal of the game.

Could not have asked any more from the boys.

Man of the match: Dan Eldridge
