Yet another win for the Vets. The first time we have scored six goals in a match. The opposition were not very strong but we should have scored more goals. We wasted a lot more chances because of our benevolent nature not wanting to embarrass our opponents.
We did not play as well as we can but were still able to dominate most of the game. Our first goal was probably the best starting from Clive rolling the ball out and in three passes the ball ended up in their net from a Rob Godley lob. They managed to equalise when their centre forward ran on to an inch perfect pass from Ian Clarkson and fired home. Clive heaped compliments on Ian for the through ball in his usual quiet manner.
From then on the game was one sided and we were only troubled by the occasional breakaways. Rob scored the second. Ian Clarkson got the next two. Paul Gibbs got the fifth with a right foot shot, the first time he has used that boot and Nigel scored the sixth.
We might not find this week's opponents so generous, so lets hope we can raise our game and perhaps stay undefeated.
