Friendly

This friendly game was played in the best of spirits against the side that won our league last year. To be honest Westerham looked a different side from the previous season and had a number of faces missing and also their influential manager was still on holiday. However, we had all worked extremely hard in training and we gelled instantly putting in a good performance to get us off to a positive start. Westerham scored first after they capitalised on a misjudged cross. Not to long before the half, Dave Harrigan struck a wonder volley which flew past one of the best keepers in Kent and into the corner. Darren Mace our sub keeper and goalkeeper coach made a few stunning saves to keep the score level. We went into the break at 1-1.
The second half started and the heat was starting to take its toll, but due to superior fitness, we really started to get hold of this game and dominate more and more as the fixture continued. Plenty of personnel were available and we scored what turned out to be the winner with about 10 mins to go when Barry coolly finished with his head after a terrific cross from Sam Small on the right.
2-1 it finished with Sam Small picking up MOM.
