A good win and we got back to playing like we did two months ago - keeping good shape and competing for every loose ball.
Kicking against the wind in the first half was always going to be difficult and Eltham Town threatened. We struggled to clear the ball and Eltham missed several chances before taking the lead. However a good passing move resulted in Adam Dawson snatching us a goal soon after and the rest of the half we spent defending and looking dangerous on the break. At half time to be drawing 1 all was fantastic as the second half conditions favoured us. Dan Head replaced an under the weather Sam Small at the break but the main chat was to get the ball wide and to our forwards'' feet.
We soon took the lead with Barry Cleaver''s low shot from the edge of the area. Then sub ''J'' Parsfield volleyed a 3rd after another nice passing move. It seems we like to give the manager heart problems and we were sloppy defending a corner resulting in Eltham scoring to make it 3 - 2. I then sent on our third sub Judgie (Colin would say trump card) who will no doubt describe to anyone unlucky enough to bump into him how he skinned the full-back (the full-back must be slow) and passed to Dawson who applied the finishing touch to make the game safe.
Well done everyone, 1 million percent improvement on the previous couple of weeks and has confirmed what I''ve always believed - we are a decent team who can beat anyone if we have players available and we are up for it. Man of the match was Daragh Nott with Jason, Pester and couple of others picking up votes as well. Colin Judge voted for himself.
