Match Report

A much better performance this week against championship hopefuls Milldean.
Before the game my phone was on meltdown and O2 shares went up 10p at the start of trading on Monday due to the following factors, Neil Connelly and myself stuck up the club with no transport (thanks to Andy Cobham for going on a detour). Also a number of players not knowing exactly where the ground was (a pleasant surprise when we eventually all got there), and lastly Colin Judge being missing in action practising dismantling Henry''s toilets for next week and I assume being caught by the ''Freshen-Up'' man.
However after we dealt with most of these problems and Colin still missing we kicked off and after 20 minutes we were 3 nil up courtesy of our strike force, Barry getting two and Adam getting the other. However Milldean are a very good, fit side and quickly got 2 goals back before half time. At half time we talked about keeping it tight but couldn''t as we conceded another 3 goals and Milldean ran out worthy winners.
In patches we looked like the team that played during our big October, I cannot fault the players'' effort this week as Steve Pester led by example and deservedly won man of the match closely followed by Barry and Dave Harrigan. The rest of team went home with a handful of DVDs (but that’s another story).
This coming Sunday we play Eltham Town away in a game I feel we need to win. Afterwards we have our Christmas meal in the Woody followed by Bromley to watch some European football Chelski/Francenal. Hopefully if we display the same effort we will win Sunday and have an excellent time drinking champers.
