Match Report

We took 1-0 lead after 5 mins following a shot from outside the area from Tom Smart that deceived the keeper who seemed to just watch it hit the back of the net. We then held out until half-time and although they had more of the play they didn't really create too many chances. Jamie Spiteri then converted a fortunate penalty to make it 2-0 before hitting our third and his second with a sumptuous volley. Gary Harrigan then hit a late hat-trick against a demoralised Rutland who managed to nick a consolation goal right at the end of the game.

We now play South East Athletic Reserves in the semi-final of the Ron Pope cup. Let's hope we can get to a final having lost our previous two semi-finals by the odd goal each time.
