So the league has ended for us, and relegated we have been.
Many times this season you have heard about "transition periods" from Arsene and Sir Alex. But that is what has happened for the fourth team this season. You might look at the results and feel deflated, but forget them, and look at our performances! How many times this season have we been told about how good a team we are and how the result has been a stark contrast to the play. We are a young team and have not played in the same team together for long. All good teams need to play regularly in order to play well. You need not look any further than our own club for that.
The best way for us to improve as a team is to train together, not just play the 90 minutes on a Saturday and hope we gel and inter-link with one another. The team is made up of young players who still need to learn the game of football, to improve more. Not one of our players has "reached their prime" (odd exceptions yes), and so we still have vast room for improvement. The best way for us to improve is to train. So I hope to see all players at pre-season, this is the ideal way to get fit for the season and to grow as a team.
We yet again played the better football, with passing and moving and created numerous chances. But we were unfortunate to concede poor goals again from lapses in concentration and mistakes. As a team we controlled the game for long periods, and with that we can be proud of our performance.
The fourth team end of season meal will be after the game on the 6th May, we will have drinks at the club then move into Bromley for something to eat at "Ginny''s Kitchen", and for all who are keen the nightlife of Bromley awaits. All who wish to attend the meal are to let me know on 07946 400230 or tell me on Saturday.
