Hard Earned Draw Salvaged Against Cudham

Player ratings out of 10

Gary Rosslee, 6
Unlucky with first goal that ricocheted off the bar and went in off the back of his head, in no man’s land for second goal, made amends for a fine double save at 3-2 down but other than that spent more time in grass than Cheech & Chong!

Chris Rawley 7
Solid and vocal as always, showed real desire as he tried to rally the team when they failed to come at after half time!

Brett Cheesman 6 (pints)
Gave away possession that led to the first goal and in his own words ‘flatter than the lager in the clubhouse’ but did set up the opener with an exquisite free kick.

Rowan Foggitt, 9 (MOM)
Immense ever, and dealt well with their number 9 who was more than a handful (a bit like our Rowan) but in all fairness this should not have been a game where a defender won Man of the match especially the way we started the game!

Neil Pearce, 7
Another robust and solid performance from the ex-Folkestone man!

Paul Tanton 8
Should have scored an earlier chance after some excellent free flowing football, but grabbed his goal for his hard efforts in the first half.

Dean Murphy 9
Another outstanding display capped off with a “worldy” from 30 yards!

Jim St John, 6
Not at his usual form, very stuttering performance, highlight was taking Rosslee clean out!

John Redmond, 8
Another box to box dogged performance, and superbly set up Grainger with a deft through ball for the 4th goal.

Ben Clunn, 4
Scored the opener and fell over!

Barry Grainger, 7
Typical poacher’s goal to secure the draw!

Mark Friend’inho
Was unlucky to concede the free kick that led the Cudhams 3rd goal, but showed off his award after the match!

Daragh Nott
Had Trainers on?

Dean Wyatt
Funniest moment of the match was watching him send a Cudham player tumbling from a shoulder barge!

Andy Cobham
Maybe gave the number 9 too much respect in the second half but made some important tackles

Match summary,
We started off very brightly against a strong team that had an outfield player in goal and should have been 3 or 4 up within the first 30 minutes but we allowed Cudham to find their rhythm. The pitch didn’t make things easy as the grass was way overdue a cut (maybe Richard Davies could bring his lawnmower next time) and the management had a frustrating morning with trying to give everybody a run out and keep everybody happy!

Next week Ditton away, let’s see if the dreaded ‘Dittonitus’ strikes again!

Man of the match: Rowan Foggitt
