Rolling Back the Years - Part Two

We scored loads, but probably not enough to win the league. Last home game of the season, our biggest win all year and a home record that saw us win 9 out of 10 games.

In reality this was an easy game against the bottom side. A goal after 30 seconds helped calm us. Danny Godward curling into the top bins from 25 yards. Stu Lenton converted his first of a quality hat-trick from the penalty spot to make it 2-0. A great through ball from Pat Lott Harvey put Lloyd through, he finished excellently when the keeper rushed out. Pat Lott Harvey curled home a 30 (20) yard free kick to make it 4 at half time. At one point we were attacking, but Lee and Dave decided they wanted to defend a bit more. So Lee played a cross-field ball about 20 yards behind Dave. Dave then volleyed it out for a corner to them. He was on the halfway line. Really odd behaviour from our full backs.

Second half saw 5 substitutions and 3 more goals. Stu curled home his second from outside the box. He then completed his hat-trick. Can't remember who put him through (sorry) but Stu was so offside he became onside again. A great finish to round off a quality evening treble. Keeps saying this is his last season of playing, on this evidence, not happening mate!

Ellis ruined my evening by scoring the last goal after a terrific pass from Danny.

Barnesy sulked like a small child when we subbed him off, petulantly taking his time to leave the pitch. This made me laugh. Joe dressed up as a waiter afterwards. Ad's boy Connor absolutely terrorised him for it, very funny. Me and Gibbo saw the world's worst cross dresser getting a Big Mac. Kev stayed out after 9pm for the first time since 2002. And finally, Lloyd Miller told Russell that he is a ringer for Jamie Redknapp. He'll dine out on that for a few weeks.
