Match Report

Our second game was the first of 5 away games on the bounce, seriously who drafts out these fixtures at the SLA league? Victor better not be involved! Having arrived late we made it on to the pitch about 5 minutes before kick off which wasn\'t ideal. This week we added even more strength to the team with both Clarkson and Johnstone being available for the first time. We started nervously and could have been behind if not for some excellent saves from Clarkson.
Shortly before half time we grabbed the lead when Barnes grabbed his 3rd in two games with the help of a Lampard style deflection. After half time we weathered an early storm and then grabbed a second when Godward\'s low cross was diverted in to the net brilliantly by Ahmed. Unfortunately from here we then had a half hour where Long Lane dominated and grabbed two goals to level the game. After that we seemed to recover and in the last 15 minutes looked the more likely side to grab a winner although it never came. All in all though it was a creditable point on a terrible pitch and against a good Long Lane side who finished well above us last year.
