Match Report

Great start to the game, pitch was perfect, weather was perfect and we started with 11 v 10.

Even better, we went ahead through Colin Ebdon after a 1-2 with Paul Smith and then another 1-2 with Ian Shoebridge, Colin then firing an unstoppable shot into the far corner - maybe slightly exaggerated! Paul Smith then hit the bar after a great move. That was as good as it got.

Chris Bourlet then went off injured, Lee Southby coming on to replace him. They then went on to score three times in the first half, and at half time we reflected on what the second half would bring.

Change of tactics and 11 men behind the ball to defend against their "Vets" (some of them didn''t even look 30!). Mark James went off injured at precisely 12 noon (he was going anyway), and they volunteered one of their players to replace him. He had a great game for us.

Wave after wave of attack was thwarted by some last ditch tackling and some great saves from Gary "The Cat" - but they scored twice more to leave the final score at 5-1.
