This game represented another opportunity for a good runout and a chance for me and Darren to have another look at the players. It was good to see a good selection of young players on show. It has to be said that the opposition didn’t really give us many problems at all and the pitch was rather shabby. We still managed to put in a very good performance and should have actually scored more goals.
Wray got the goal scoring underway finishing with a left foot shot after a nice cross in from Stevens. Then Adams set Wray free down the right who crossed for Stevens to finish inside the 6 yard box and make it 2-0. They scored a rather fortuitous goal. Laurent scored on o.g. after a cross.
Hughes scored with a sweet right foot shot and not to be outdone Stevens drilled in an unstoppable drive to add to the goal tally. Belchamber climbed high from a Stevens corner to head home and make it five. Between all this action they scored from a 20 yard free kick to reduce the arrears.
Throughout the game we created many chances and produced some good passing movements. It was good to carry on the winning form and another game meant that we continued to gel as a team.
The squad of players is showing promise and coming together nicely. Let’s hope the form continues and we take it further into the new season.
