MERRY CHRISTMAS
and a
HAPPY NEW YEAR
from all at FOBG
First XI draw with Greenwich
The First XI played out a 1-1 draw against Greenwich All Stars in the league at Farrow Fields to end a difficult year. Tom Gilham's penalty quickly cancelled out Greenwich's second half opener.
Thanks Jordan!
It is with much regret that we announce that Jordan Glen has decided to step down from his official duties at FOBG. This has not been a sudden or easy decision for Jordan, but as of 1 January 2026 he will no longer be officially connected with the club.
Jordan joined in 2014, bringing the inaugural Sunday Reserves XI to Farrow Fields as its player/manager. Since then he has been player, manager, emergency keeper, valued committee member, minute taker, and social media officer! So he will be very much missed!
We all wish him the best in the future, not least with his and Megan's new home in the Kent countryside.
Saturday Vets Football League committee decisions
The Saturday Vets Reserves home league win against Warlingham Super Vets on 8 November has been awarded to the visitors, after the Southern Veterans Football League decided that FOBG were guilty of fielding an ineligible player, whom we had signed the morning of the match. We believed the paperwork had been taken care of by both parties.
The table has been adjusted to reflect the league committee's decision. With regards to club records, appearances and goals for this game will remain valid.
On a more psoitive note, the Saturday Vets have been awarded the points for their opposition being unable to unfulfil the fixtures against Gravesend Cricketers Vets, Sporting Croydon Vets and Warren Athletic Vets.
Watch how the Sunday XI won!
Many thanks to Alison Figg who captured some of the highlights of the Sunday XI's penalty shootout drama against Long Lane in the Presidents Charity Cup. Edited by Colin Brazier.

Under 15s' journey continues
The Under 15s Boys have already taken in Cray, Haringey and Blackheath on their LFA Under 15s Boys Junior Cup campaign. So having covered south, north and east Greater London, step in Balham FC to welcome us to Roehampton on 10 January in the fifth round (last 16).
This represents a tough draw as Balham sit in tier three of eight Under 15s divisions in the Surrey Youth League having won promotion last term. Their mens' first XI play at step 5 of the league pyramid. Even so, Seb Favata's side is more than capable of making further progress in the competition.
Farnborough Social Club - Parking
Please note that Farnborough Social Club (NOT FOBG!) now have their car park controlled by an ANPR system. If you park there and are not registered, you could receive a fine of £150. It may be possible to buy a day permit from their bar.
