It was another cup game for the Sunday side against more Premier Division opposition and after last week's result our confidence was high, but with Sainsbury's going to France for the day plus injuries and players being unavailable we only had the bare eleven and the big surprise for everyone was the inclusion in the eleven of yours truly!

After the shock had worn off we were ready to start and within the first few minutes Darren Chalker narrowly missed after a good move straight from the kick off. As last week the opposition were nothing better than what we had faced in the league during the season. With a makeshift team playing well there was never much in it, but halfway through the half after some resolute defending and good attacking our first mistake was punished, but as in the last few weeks have proved the heads don't drop down and our determination to win grew, however at half time we were still 1-0 down although we had found the
back of the net only to see Darren's effort ruled out after a very dodgy offside.

We started the second half as we finished the first and within the first couple of minutes Steve Mann saw his header hit the post. With an equaliser now looking possible I decided to pass to their forward and although Jez made a good save Steve Mann handled the second shot. Luckily for us the penalty was missed! We still kept going but did not get the goal we deserved.

Although we lost we didn't disgrace ourselves with good performances all round with Jez making some good saves and Paul Storkey having a good game in the centre of midfield, which brought him the Man of the Match award. Our thanks to Stuart Bullard and Ian Coles for playing at short notice.
