It's the hope that kills ya

Another well ground out result. We are all really tired now, 9 games in a month is hard work. We managed to get a squad of 15 together, which is impressive considering we had 4 on Monday morning!

We actually played some really good stuff in patches against a Bexlians side who have won their last 5 and were playing their last game of the season. It was good to have our skipper back after a few games out and Lloyd after his suspension ended.

Against the run of play we went 1-0 down. A long ball, a decent save which landed at the feet of a very offside looking forward to tap home.

Not long after we got a pen when Pat turned their defender who gave him a kick. Pat tried to stay on his feet and fair play to the ref who saw the foul!! Ellis despatched it, obviously.

Second half we were much the better side, without creating too many clear cut chances. It took a free kick and a really, really faint touch to win it for is.

Rich Pile stood over a free kick 30 yards out and swung it in. I negotiated some space and as Couchy quite rightly pointed out, flicked the ball home off my eyebrow. Somehow this touch has gone unnoticed by all. All apart from Ellis who asked me as we were celebrating "D'ya touch it?" "Of course" was my whiter than white response.

We controlled the game until the end, although we were maybe guilty of sitting back for the last 10 minutes.

24 hours later we found out Stansfeld had dropped an unlikely 2 points, which means it's just goal difference which separates us. Unfortunately we need a 10 goal turnaround in 3 games, which is probably a bridge too far.

All we can do now is try and win our last 3 and see what happens. Obviously 2 of these 3 games are midweek, why wouldn't they be?

Go 6 upfront on Saturday for the Metrogas game.

Getting a bit bored of being awarded MOM now, I'll take it tho'. Just realised someone lost our trophy in mid November, devastating.
