New Club COVID-19 Guidelines - with effect immediately

The club has amended our COVID-19 rules in accordance with government and Kent County Football Association guidelines.

With immediate effect:

1. Unfortunately due to the letter received from Ellie Bainbridge, Designated Safeguarding Officer to the KCFA, the club cannot offer changing room facilities. We are currently looking at how we can offer an alternative outside solution.

2. Unfortunately due to new government legislation introduced 14/09/20 the club will not be allowing spectators into the premises.

3. Unfortunately due to new government legislation introduced 14/09/20 the club cannot offer (bar) hospitality to visiting teams. Home teams will be allocated three tables of six in the lounge. All members must adhere to new lounge guidelines, details of which are to follow.

4. Entrance and use of the car park will be strictly limited to players and managers only (including opposition) and gates will be shut 30 minutes before kickoff. We have received two complaints recently from the Social Club next door about cars being parked in the Farrow Fields driveway. Hopefully this will alleviate that problem.

Saturday round-up: Clean Sweep!

Four wins from four starts on a stellar Saturday for FOBG.

The First XI romped to a 3-0 half-time lead at home to Peckham Town which is how the scoring ended. Kalum Daini scored twice with Dekklund Wallace converting a penalty.

The Reserves won 4-1 away to Danson Sports Reserves, with Charlie Pitt getting a double, and Tony Rawlings and Pat Harvey also on the scoresheet.

The Third XI faced Holmesdale Under 23s in a Queen Mary Cup 1st round match at Farrow Fields, an early Jamie Tulloch goal settling the issue for the Guild.

The Fourth XI won 5-2 away to Welling United Deaf in a league match. TJ Kode scored two, with Tommy Chalker, Aaron McWilliams and George Perry also hitting the target.

Jack Standen Cup - Champions! Photos Online

The Sunday Reserves beat Blendon 3-2 in a thrilling match at the Westminster Waste Stadium, home of Bromley FC on Sunday before a crowd of 232, to win the 2019-20 Jack Standen Cup.  The two sides were both unbeaten in the league last season but never faced each other before the season was shut down, so there was always going to be an edge about this final.

It started badly for the Guild as they conceded a penalty to go behind after only five minutes, and things got worse for us when influential midfielder Mason Horne hobbled off five minutes later.

Blendon dominated the first 45 minutes and deservedly extended their lead from a corner on 29 minutes.

It looked grim for Farnborough but they must have used the interval to maximum effect because neither team looked the side they were in the first half. Two excellent chances went begging thanks to good goalkeeping but FOBG were on the front foot and had a man advantage after 65 minutes when Steve Townsend was brought down when through on goal.

It was Townsend whose lob five minues later reduced the deficit, and the momentum was with the team in yellow.  Paul Lee equalised with 15 minutes to go and you suspected there was only going to be one winner, and so it proved when Townsend converted a Chris McGinty cross to make it 3-2.

Farnborough saw the ninety minutes out with some resolute defending, as Blendon refused to give in.

All in all, a cracking match which was a credit to both teams, all officials and the OBDSFL.

The OBDSFL have issued the official video of the match (5 minutes) which you can view HERE:
