President's Charity Cup
4th round
By Paul Tanton
Our President''s Cup game was a total shambles and it was only the first class attitude from the players that played that prevented total embarrassment. I can''t praise that attitude enough. However last week we had 16 players all ready and raring for our game against Lessa, this week we kicked off with 11 plus me as sub. This was the same for all teams in the club this weekend. A club like Farnborough should not be short of players as much as we are. This is not fair on the people such as Vic and the managers who do so much for the club or your team-mates who must feel very let down by the unavailability of certain players (you know who you are). We all play football for fun and Sunday wasn''t much fun for the players that turned up.
After ten minutes we lost Jason to a hamstring injury and after 15 minutes we lost Sam Small who damaged knee ligaments. So we played the majority of the game with 10 men.
This week we have Valley Valients in a must win league game. I want to see everyone there early (not ten minutes before the kick off, the time on the newsletter is there for a reason). We need to warm up properly and be focused on winning the game. I do not want to be relegated in a season that I thought we would challenge for the title.
