Bridon Ropes

First XI

We travelled across to Meridian for another challenging fixture against Bridon who were now in the division above us and were the best side we played against last season. An early error led to Bridon taking the lead after a weak free kick (but there’s always a chance if you hit the target).

We played well throughout this fixture and missed a few opportunities to draw level. 1-0 it remained at half time. The second half saw a change in formation, which worked really well and saw us really take the game to Bridon. With the more attacking formation, we kept the ball for long periods of time in their half looked really fit and worked exceptionally hard. We were very unlucky to come away with a loss and the oppo were very respectful of our performance. Ray Perkins nicked man of the match by a single vote from Colin Judge.

I hope that both Westerham and Bridon make good accountants of themselves in the division above, to reflect what a tough division they have come from.
