Sunday Reserves
Paul Jarman, Nick Pitt
2 - 1
Premium United

By Jordan Burton

A strong Farnborough side arrived at Farrow Fields today knowing 3 points would be a big help in not finishing bottom of the league. We were held waiting for the opposition and I was doing my best to make sure the game was played.

Referee Phil Morris waited patiently (I was being nice so he didn't mind).

I was left sorting other bits when Phil said the game was off due to the "sharp stones" from the sand on the bottom pitch.

Facing another game being unplayed, I asked Phil if the game could be played on the top pitch.

Thankfully he agreed it could. At this point I would like to thank Paul and the rest of our Young Vets for changing pitch.

Getting into the game we started well but not at our best. We created a lot of chances but none hit the back of the net; however we still dominated the first half.

Second half after a well listened Farnborough team talk we got stuck straight in. Passing and moving created great play for us allowing more chances on goal.

We pressed the Premium defence and the ball was played to Rhyse Elliott who selflessly laid it off to Paul Jarman who put it in the back of the net. 1-0.

More and more chances came with Charlie Pitt and Tommy Field taking their chances.

A great ball from Tommy Field who was helping the defence to Nick Pitt sent Nick on a run towards goal. Calmly Nick scored his first goal for the Guild.

A lack of concentration led us to concede a poor goal but we made sure nothing like that happened for the remainder of the game.

Well done to all the boys.

Last game of the season next week let's make it another 3 points.
